Google just announced that Western Union will no longer be a supported payment method for AdSense, AdMob, and Ad Manager. This means that anyone in Asia using Western Union as their default payment method will have to set up a new payment method, before September 2022, in order to receive further payments.

Google recommends that such users switch to another payment method as soon as possible to avoid any inconveniences later on. For now, it will continue with Western Union until August 31.

YouTube Payments

However, according to the email they sent out, it seems that this will not affect payments of YouTube. Essentially, AdSense has separated the YouTube earnings account from the main AdSense account, which is mainly for websites and web-content.

This means that if you are only using AdSense for YouTube, you can continue to receive payments via Western Union. But, if you're using AdSense for websites, you will have to set up a different payment method before the deadline.

Other Payment Methods

Currently AdSense has only two other payment methods available: Wire Transfer and Check. However we recommend using Wire Transfer to receive payments quickly into your bank account, without having to wait for the check to arrive.
