Jazz 4G Speed Test in Karachi 100GB Package Review 2021

I recently switched my home internet from Zong 4G to Jazz 4G. In short, I can easily recommend Jazz over Zong, but your results may vary depending on your situation and use case. So today I'll walk you through my experience on getting Jazz 4G internet, some Speed Tests in my area, ping tests for some popular games and my final thoughts on the switch so far.

Personal Experience With Jazz 4G

The process of getting Jazz 4G internet was fairly easy and simple. All I had to do was go to nearest Jazz 4G shop in my area, and tell them I want Jazz 4G Internet. In my case, I only got the Jazz Data Sim and used it with my own 4G device (Huawei). I did biometric and showed my CNIC, and the guy gave me a Data Sim. Although he did tell me that I'm required to pay and get a package loaded on the spot. I was gonna do it later so I told him I don't want to activate any package yet. He understood and told me he will load a minimum of Rs.200 balance along with Rs.350 for Jazz 4G Data Sim. In total I paid Rs.550 and that's about all. I went back home and set it up on my device, purchased a 100GB/month 6 Month Bundle for Rs.12,000 recharge, and I was ready to go.

Signals, Speeds and Pings

I did some speed tests on my Jazz 4G and I have to say, Jazz seems to have better signal coverage than Zong 4G. So signals were sitting aroung 70-90% indoors, near a window. The tests were performed on second floor of my house so that could affect signal strengths. With that said, I was able to get speeds of arond 20 Mbps to 25 Mbps on average, while I maxed out at 42 Mbps. These tests were done on Oolka's Speedtest App on Windows 10, with the server set to Jazz (Karachi) and pings were around 15ms on average and 10ms at some times. So I'd say not bad there, considering that I'm connected through Wi-Fi and not Ethernet cable.

Pings In Popular Games

Of course, many people want a good internet connection for playing online multiplayer games. So I did some tests online and according to a site, I was getting these pings on best servers:

  • Overwatch: 155ms (EU West)
  • PUBG: 165ms (Ireland)
  • Valorant: 145ms (EU West)
  • Rainbow Six Siege: 160ms (EU West)

Final Thoughts and Who Should Get It

According to my tests, the speeds are great for the price they're charging, although there are some limitaions. For instance, you only get 100GB (of which 50GBs are usable between 1am to 1pm), which means you're not getting unlimited internet. So if you download heavy files such as large games (eg: Call of Duty: Warzone), this may not be for you. For multiplayer gaming, the pings aren't great but they're not bad either. So if 100-200ms pings are good enough for you, then go for it.

On the other hand, if you mainly need internet for general internet browsing, this is more than fast enough for you. I was able to play YouTube videos at 4K 60FPS (meaning 2 times the normal 4K video) without any buffering. Now you may not be able to play the same without buffering, but I can say there won't be much lagging and for normal 4K, it's great. Other than videos, normal web browsing is also quick. So if you're looking for this, you should definitely consider Jazz 4G!
