For the first time in 17 years, England will tour Pakistan to play 7 T20 Internationals. The tour will begin in the 3rd week of September.

Schedule

The first four 20 over matches will be hosted by Karachi from September 20 – 25, and the remaining three will be held in Lahore from September 28 – October 2.

Security Green Lit

Recently, a three-member security-assessment team from the England and Wales Cricket Board travelled to Pakistan to look into the arrangements. All the seven T20Is will be played under the floodlights.

Previous England’s Tours

The last time team England was in Pakistan to play cricket was in 2005. However, the next two tours were hosted by Pakistan in UAE, in 2012 and 2016 respectively. But, last year the tour in Pakistan was abandoned by England after New Zealand backed out, and the reasoning behind were uncertainty about the security and typical bubble fatigue. This tour was scheduled for just before T20 World Cup, and it was meant for both sides to practice for the upcoming event, however, the future lied opposite.

New Zealand Tour

Followed by the visit of England’s team, the cricket team of New Zealand will also be hosted by Pakistan, for three ODIs and two Tests in December-January, in addition to five ODIs and five T20Is in the month of April.
